Gene Young

At any given moment, you have the power to say,

this is not how my story

is going to end.

The Gene Young Social Issues Collection was created with the generous endowment given to Lansing Community Library in honor of Lansing's long-time resident, Gene Young. He worked diligently for 40 years to raise awareness of social issues that affect children and adults within our community.  He was a member of several community outreach organizations that provide assistance and support to families in need. He and his wife, Ada, were instrumental in establishing the library in the community.

This collection includes materials that are part of the special collection that supports the Lansing Community Library’s mission and expands upon the knowledge of social issues that children and adults experience within the community.

Disclaimer: This collection does not exist at Lansing Community Library.  This site was created for LI855 XR - Collection Development; Emporia State University
